Absolute Contraindications for Laser Hair Removal Procedure



  1. Pregnancy and breastfeeding (depilation can be started approximately 6 months after breastfeeding cessation).

  2. Photodermatoses and light sensitivity conditions, including porphyria, solar urticaria, light rashes, etc.

  3. Cancer

  4. Heart pacemaker, insulin pump

  5. Metal implants in the treatment area

  6. Uncontrolled diabetes

  7. Active bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections, including active herpes outbreaks

  8. Active viral, bacterial, fungal skin lesions in the treatment area, as well as skin healing disorders

  9. Epilepsy

  10. Blood clotting disorders and the use of blood-thinning medications

  11. Use of photosensitizing drugs, including diuretics, antidepressants, tetracyclines, sulfonamides. A proper time gap should be observed from taking these medications, approximately one week.

  12. Consumption of significant amounts of alcohol within 24 hours before the procedure

  13. Use of antibiotics

  14. Use of retinoids and isotretinoin. A 6-month break is necessary after treatment completion.

  15. Vitiligo, psoriasis, blistering diseases, and others

  16. Autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma

  17. Infectious diseases - hepatitis, AIDS, tuberculosis, venereal diseases

  18. Tendency to form keloids and hypertrophic scars

  19. Recent tanning, including from a tanning bed - up to 2 weeks before the procedure

  20. Use of self-tanners and bronzing creams - substances on the skin's surface can cause abnormal reactions

  21. Aesthetic fillers in the treatment area, e.g., hyaluronic acid - thermal procedures affect the breakdown of hyaluronic acid, and an approximate 4-week gap should be maintained.

  22. Tattoos in the treatment area

  23. Surgical procedures in the treatment area - a necessary 2-month gap.
